Laguna Publishing House from Serbia is interested to include „The Book of Whispers” in its collections
Primim din partea Editurii Laguna din Serbia:
We are really grateful that Ms. Annette from Zsolnay Verlag has informed you of our interest in publishing BUCH DES FLÜSTERNS in Serbia. I don’t know if she’s passed on my entire e-mail to you but we are preparing a special book series dedicated to the most distinguished European contemporary writers and we’d be glad and honoured to include BUCH DES FLÜSTERNS in it. The series would not only be made up of the titles by the most distinguished and award-winning authors but it would also feature authors from all over Europe since we’d like to make it culturally as diverse as possible. It is basically a series never before seen or done here; something that would bring together many different aspects of human experience together and unite them in what is common to us all. It would promote integral human values and depict how we all, despite being separated nationally and by borders, share the same experiences as first and foremost human beings.
Since the concept is something that would merit international attention and since it promotes ideas of the highest importance, we’d like all the titles in the series to have the best translators possible and would therefore apply with the entire series for the European translation grant. Thus we thought that it would be amazing if we could negotiate the translation option with the owner of the rights to the title, where we’d get the consent from the owner of the rights to apply with the title for the European translation grant and then upon the confirmation of the grant, we’d acquire the rights for the title.
We would be really grateful if we could get your input on all this and hear
your opinion about our idea. We’d also love our readers in Serbia to be able to get acquainted with your work and we’d be happy for the possibility tofeature BUCH DES FLÜSTERNS in our series.”
